We just changed the world
I just lived through history, and the feeling is indescribable.
There are only a small percentage of people who live on this world who get to see history in the making. I am very grateful to be one of them. A few days ago, on November 4th, 2008, around eleven o’clock pm, I watched the first African American become president elect of the United States of American.
I have never, ever in my life felt so proud to be an American. Not only that to watch history unfold, turn a chapter, be apart of it.
This election was my very first time voting for a president of the united states. I can not begin to tell to the amazing power and joy it gave me to look at my choices
I made and cast my vote. I am proud of the choice, and I am proud of my countries choice.
We have elected a man for the first time in a long time has brought hope to millions of Americans. We have elected a man who can finally united our country during these hard time. We have elected a man who can lead, and h has shown us that.
Time stood and the world watched us as we made our choice for the new leader of the free world. People screaming and crying, celebrations in the streets, chanting in front of the White House, and the world cheering us on. We have changed the world. Forever.
For the first time I feel I have a president who really represents me. But not only me, my entire country.
You know what I really am contented about, having an intelligent president. He isn’t dumb nor incompetent, He isn’t fat, stupid, lazy, out of touch, or cheating on his wife. He is a hard working, determined, passionate family man who just wants America to be a better place for his children, his family, and everyone else. He isn’t a rich white man that was born into politics; He has lived through many hard times just like what many Americans are going through today.
I hope that all Americans, even Republicans who are upset because of losing or scared because their views won’t be heard, look at this event with joy and felicity. This is a huge turning point for our country, and the world, and it really shows how far America has come, and for that we should all be proud. We just took a colossus leep into the future.
I say this because I know in my family there are upset people overlooking this event with frustration. I know why you do but don’t let that overshadow this important moment in time. From Obama’s victory speech….
“And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.“
Alas this is not just a Democrat victory, or a black victory. This is an American victory … a world victory. He has brought back hope and pride to millions. Hope that tomorrow will be better if we work today, pride that America is the only place on earth these stories can happen. Obama has lived a true American story, and has shown the world anything is possible.
“That’s the true genius of America: that America can change. Our union can be perfected. What we’ve already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.” - Barack Obama, November 4th, 2008.

On a nother note I am up in New Hamshire with my Mother. If you would like to see what pictures I have so far click here. More will be coming soon.
