A-PEELING banana sculptures

What could you possibly do with a banana – eat it? Shake it and prepare milkshake? Add it to your breakfast cereal? Well, we know that banana is healthy for our body and it is meant to be eaten but who knew that it could be used for art too!

Japanese artist Keisuke Yamada is creating art with the same bananas that you eat – the same bananas that have a peel. It all started when Yamada carved a smiling face on the banana. Many people appreciated it and now he is all over the internet. His works are popular everywhere and people are loving his banana sculptures. The creative artist has made Davy Jones, Marge Simpson and Elvis Presley till now.

Another interesting work of his is a happy guy sitting under a palm tree – holiday banana it is. His latest work was also the Greek god. He also made banana horses. You could find his work everywhere on the internet as it is one of the coolest things today. Yamada usually starts making sculptures out of bananas which takes 30 minutes. He then clicks a picture of it and eats the bananas. Well, this guy is certainly doing some great job. It is good to see people are realizing that art can be in any form. Yamada is working on creating Prince Charles’s sculpture.

Yamada uses a toothpick and a spoon in order to make these sculptures. He creates almost everything – goofy people with long crazy hair to dragons and personalities. At least someone is using their creative mind and showing the world that bananas can be used for a better purpose. Well, you might just eat them later on if you want. But certainly, the banana sculptures are really cool and are making news everywhere. Young and creative, 23 year old Yamada has definitely earned it.
